Tomie

Finally rant #1 and I get the honor of writing it about one of the best books I've read and I have read a lot of books. I would like to start this by saying this is not for the people who think Tomie is a misunderstood girlboss, I mean if you think so I'm not gonna sho you off my page but I strongly urge you to read my little rant and rethink your stance. Also I'm really dragging this intro out but I would strongly suggest you to read it if you haven't and it is linked here. Now I know, I know, why would I pirate a book I claim is the greatest book I've read well it's 40 GODDAMN EUROS. So without further ado here's the rant.

Tomie is a beautiful girl for who we never really find out where she comes from. But can we really call her a girl. Except being puerly evil is she even human? We know she can age but can she be killed? I believe she can die frim old age but can she die prematurely?

I would like to start off by talking about her evil, the core of her being I believe. She doesn't have empathy just self interest and the only thing that seems to be a motive is to be the only Tomie aka the most beautiful girl around. I think if were talking about her evil I should definitely bring up one of the panels that has disgusted me most. This the panel from the story boy and if you read the book you probably know what I'm talking about. I don't think words can truly describe how much I hate Tomie. I adore the story but Tomie is an embodiment of evil and wrong. I don't truly believe she even likes men or anyone romantically, she just likes being adored. She's an narcissistic sickness.

That brings me to the subject of what is Tomie. We all know by now she isn't human, but what is she then? No one truly knows, I mean Ito never said what she is. A lot of people like to think of her as a living cancer cell which is a great description. I think she is a sickness, but separated in two parts: the sickness and Tomie. What I mean by that is that I think that the body and the thing that makes men obsessed with her is the sickness and her narcissistic nature is Tomie. They're split beings that don't work with each other. While Tomie wants to be the only Tomie the sickness wants to spread, it makes the men want to chop up Tomie so she'd dublicate like a cell. Of course this is not confirmed cannon and everyone has their own interpretation and guesses and this is mine.
